Which is better caesarstone or granite

Soapstone is a soft rock, and it is easily scratched in countertop use. However, a gentle sanding and treatment with mineral oil will easily remove shallow scratches. Soapstone is not suitable for use as a workbench top where it will receive rough treatment and where sharp or abrasive objects will be placed upon it. But, granite is a natural stone.

The other is man made. Most of the granite needs to be sealed every few years. What else are you worried about?? I've had granite for 10 years. Sealed it 3 times, I believe. No staining, no cracks, no staining. I put hot pots on the stone with no problem. I've spilled everything on them.

No problem. I like the looks of real stone. Get what you like. Between the two of them, they are pretty close. The manmade one needs no maintenance. That's the only diff. Caesarstone is an incredible product. Very easy care and forgiving. Mine is white and all manner of food stains will come right off. Over ten years of punishing use and it still looks new. I really love the fact that the patterning will be consistent. If you decide going with granite make sure you choose your piece so there are no surprises come installation.

Granite can chip, fyi. I was so shocked to find that out in my home and at a friend's home. I have both granite and caesarstone in my house. Personally, I prefer the caesarstone to the granite, because of maintenance and the consistency of pattern, but I understand the appeal of granite.

Scott Design, Inc. Therefore, using inexpensive and readily available hot pads or trivets is always recommended, especially when using cooking units such as electric frying pans, crock pots, or roaster ovens.

We do not advise putting hot cookware directly on the Caesarstone surface. Would recommend Caesarstone based on my experience so far. I had a light coloured Caesarstone in my last property for 9 years without any problem. Have heard that granite is porous, therefore would not be as durable as Caesarstone. My previous house had light coloured caesarstone.

It was pretty, but a nuisance. It didn't stain per se, but was hard to clean. Also there are rules about what you can clean it with, so when there was a bad mark you had no choice but elbow grease and dishwashing liquid to get it out. But it was more resilient than the granite benchtop I had in the house prior to that. I believe granite needs to be quite thick to avoid cracks. If I had to choose between the two, I might opt for a not too plain dark caesarstone.

It's non-porous, never stains or chips, and can be laid on top of other benchtops if required. There is a web site for Granite Transformations that you can go to. I would highly recommend you check them out. Have experience with white Caesarstone and Smartstone engineered benchtops.
