In their application to the high court, the lawyers also argued that mandatory minimum sentences are intended to deter people from committing crimes.
However, they maintained deterrence did not apply because Forcillo legally used his gun in good faith. I agree whole heartedly that the questions we all have about the events of Saturday morning need to be answered. Until we get those answers, is categorizing all police officers as killers and murderers going to bring Sammy any justice?
