The Farm, which covers an area of approximately four hundred hectares, comprises an abattoir, dairy, poultry and a market garden and supplies meat, milk, eggs, vegetables and fruit for use by other prisons.
The Farm Officers, under the direction of the Farm Supervisor, are responsible for the management and control of the farming operations and work output of the prisoners under their supervision. The Farm Officers will have constructive interaction with prisoners with regard to the philosophy, aims and objectives of the prison and production undertaken on the farm. It is essential that Farm Officers operate as a working team and consult with colleagues in areas such as prisoner work placement and allocation of duties and maintain a harmonious working relationship within the work environment.
These positions provide five day per week coverage of the Farm providing maximum supervision on a rostered start and finish time providing leave coverage for the VO3A1 Dairy Officers.
