But the reason you add Artimenner to your posse isn't just for the smarts, as this companion also has a tactical skill as well.

You know how they say food tastes better when it's free? Well, take that logic, and apply it here, to video games. Sure, Firentis has a charisma rating equivalent to a pet rock but when you take into account the fact that you can recruit him for free, well, you start looking on the bright side. That charisma stat of five becomes a bit more palatable when you take note of his strength and intelligence ratings of ten, and an agility rating of 12 that stands alone as the highest in the game among companions.

Speaking of free companions, there's also Jeremus. He gets held back a bit in the overall rankings for specializing in one particular skill rather than being good at everything - but with an intelligence rating of 13, tied for the highest among any companion, it's easier to overlook the things he can't do as well, like anything based in charisma and agility.

Alayen is a brute. Not only because the only two things he dislikes according to the game are failing and retreating, and not only because two of his main skills are Power Strike and Weapon Master, but also because of his raw strength rating of 11, the second-highest in the game.

Alayen isn't as versatile as some of the other companions. He won't win the room with his charisma or win an episode of Jeopardy! Recruiting Matheld to your party will cost you more than any other companion, with her being the only party member that runs a Denar price tag. But oh, man, are Matheld's services worth it. Matheld possesses nines and tens across the board in rating stats, with the nines coming in strength and intelligence and the tens being in agility in charisma.

Being a balanced character that can be counted on for just about whatever is required is a strength in its own right, as are Matheld's Weapon Master and athletics skills. Matheld can do it all, and do it all very well. I'm not really a fan of it, since like most people agree, the guns suck a lot of the enjoyment out of the game.

They're reasonably realistic, but it just makes the game less enjoyable to some. Every battle becomes tedius as you have to be careful to minimize the chance of your PC being KO'd by a stray bullet, and after a while I just stop caring and start using my troops for everything while my character stands behind a rock. You have very little personal ability to affect combat, and while that is fun for awhile, it does get boring when it's really the only way to play effectively.

You can rebel and form an unaffliated kingdom, but you will always be The Rebels of X Kingdom. Default View Profile View Posts. Warband is literally a direct upgrade of the original. It has the exact same story and setting but far more gameplay features and better animations. Fire and Sword is a much more linear game set in a time period when early firearms exist. It's pretty buggy and unbalanced so most people don't like it. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 10 May, am.
